Description
The Domino Alignment Jig is the first of its kind and does exactly what it says on the tin. Take your Dominos to the next level with this system which guarantees you will say goodbye to steps when making any kind of cabinet.
The standard DAJ does not come with the DCS . Only buy this if you have a DCS, if you are ordering for a 700xl its £30 more as now all new DAJ plates do both the 500 and the 700xl
This Deluxe package comes with both a Deluxe DCS plate & DVS which have no plastic whatsoever. They feature bespoke aluminium screws & handles.

The DAJ is a fantastic addition to Frank’s other superbly designed and engineered tools. I started with the Festool FC Rail Square and Repetitive Stop and found the engineering tolerances to be very accurate with perfect results each and every time.
I have further invested in the DAJ system and latterly with the XL700 DCS with the two sets of pins for use on the guide system. Once again after some initial tests with DF500 DCS plate in the DAJ I have confirmed confidence in the accuracy and easy set up to produce ultra accurate joints with no steps.
In fact the only issue I had was with the inaccuracy of the Domino DF500 base, having the old pin version and the newer paddle version of the jointing machine, I used one machine for the DCS cuts and another for the vertical cuts and found a discrepancy of approximately 0.5mm. I now use the fence on the machine for vertical cuts set at exactly 9mm for 18/9 boards with the FC vertical guide, this counters Festool’s disparity between older and newer machines and/or manufacturing inaccuracy.
The XL 700 DCS with its double set of pins align perfectly with the DAJ rail, again with exacting tolerance, so I am guaranteed very accurate, tight domino slots on the narrow setting.
Thanks Frank for another perfectly executed tool to create perfectly aligned domino joints with speed and ease, I am finding Frank’s creations with their design, engineering and precise accuracy extremely addictive.

Brilliant piece of kit! Really speeds up the process and makes a far more accurate job of machining dominos.
Well worth the investment, if you have a Domino you should add this to it.

Having purchased the 700 Domino I soon found it struggled to match the accuracy of my Dowelmax doweling jig and that Festool had taken “loose tenon” very literally and provided the Domino with a sloppy setting to make enlarged holes so that there was sufficient movement to allow alignment. Having spent my life in engineering the thought of deliberately making enlarged holes to achieve alignment was not acceptable and so I started to look for a solution. Looking at a video by Manor Wood demonstrating the Domino Alignment Jig from FC tools it looked like it could be a solution as it used positive location rather than pencil marks and would hopefully remove the need for sloppy holes. I purchased a Domino Alignment Jig and can say that it has been engineered to a really high standard and delivers a repeatable level of accuracy that the Domino could not produce before.
When you consider the cost of a domino this FC jig demonstrates a level of accuracy that Festool should be delivering but without competition and a captive market the Domino has stagnated.

Needing a DCS for my 500 I was keen to “buy from the UK” looking at Franks solutions I decided that i’d be wise to invest in the full DAJ kit, ( I’m not a commercial carpenter / joiner but I do a lot of favors for friends) After ordering the kit I got a phone call from Frank asking if he could engrave my name on everything! and with in the week the kit was delivered packaged very well and the engineering precision amazed several of my engineering friends….
SO to the bones of the review I was half way through building a 4 meter wall of wardrobes for a friend, using the jig is straight forward with in a couple of hours I had halved the time I was taking to make the cabinets and the results were spot on. For assembly work this kit is amazing! (even my 7 year old grandson got in on the act and “helped grandad make the walls” with out any problems ok I had to hold the domino as well but he did the work!
So if you own a Domino and use it frequently this is the way to go!
I cant thank Frank enough for the kit and the fantastic phone call ! “above and beyond my friend!

You won’t find a better alignment tool for the Domino on the market! The DAJ makes easy work of lining up your work pieces, and is super accurate. The build quality is incredible, like everything Frank makes, and as soon as you pick up the DAJ, you know its a quality tool that will last forever.
The icing on the cake is that Frank is an absolute star when it comes to customer service. You won’t find a better bloke to deal with, and he will always strive to ensure your experience is 1st class.
Can’t recommend Frank and FC Tols highly enough to anyone in the market for innovative and quality tools. Keep up the good work mate, looking forward to seeing what else you design and build!
